All the time I get asked about this.. Where do you get your protein?

People get worried about this all the time and although nobody ever was sick for protein deficiency the meat industry did a pretty

good job at scaring us about this.

Anyway always is good for people to know some of the best forms of protein available to vegans.

Oatmeal

Vegan oatmeal is a great source of protein. You can choose to make a bowl of oatmeal for breakfast or create delicious oatmeal cookies to enjoy as an evening dessert.

Soymilk

Soymilk is made from soy, making it vegan friendly. One serving of soymilk can contain as much as 7 grams protein depending upon the brand you choose to get. You can drink the milk straight, enjoy it in cereal, and use it in baking. You can choose a sweetened, unsweetened, or flavored version of the milk to consume.

Broccoli

A cup of broccoli contains 4 to 5 grams of protein per serving. Be sure to check to make sure that the broccoli is organic and hormone free to ensure that no animal products were used in the growing of the vegetable.

Vegan Peanut Butter

Not all peanut butters are alike. You need to read the label for the peanut butter to ensure that you choose a brand that doesn’t contain any animal byproducts. Peanut butter can contain more than 5 grams of protein in each serving. It can be enjoyed with apples, celery, or even vegan crackers.

Beans

Soybeans, chickpeas, kidney beans, and navy beans are all filled with more than 10 grams of protein per serving. Kidney beans can be great for making chili or adding to a salad. Chickpeas can be used with a bit of tahini to make a delicious hummus dip. Navy beans and soybeans can be used to make delicious soups that will get you the protein you need without having to sacrifice on the taste.

Tofu

Tofu is one of the most well known forms of meat free protein on the market. Tofu doesn’t have a very strong taste, so adding spices and flavoring to it can make it taste very delicious. Tofu can be boiled, sautéed, and even baked.

It is important to get a source of protein with every meal. You can choose to mix multiple sources of protein together at each meal and enjoy them for snacks. Getting ample protein throughout the day will help your body thrive and build muscle in a safe and healthy way.
